  47 <P>This page summarizes the status of <B>Version 3.01</B> that will be
  48 released in May 1999.  More details can be found in the <A

  51 <P>The Geant3.21 based simulation program <B>galice</B> for the ALICE
  52 detector underwent major changes in programming language, number of lines
  53 of code, and supported platforms since its first release (Version 1) used
  54 for the TP.

  56 <P> Version 2 of the simulation program galice amounted to about 40 kLOC of
  57 Fortran code and 10 kLOC of C++.

  59 <P> Since then, the simulation program itself and the framework supporting
  60 it underwent changes reported during several meetings, to come to the
  61 present structure that it is believed can accomodate its <a href=
  62 "http://www.cern.ch/alice/Projects/offline/fcaPresentations/plenary/sld001.htm">future
